The Government recently produced its consultation document which includes details of the possible future of the Feed in Tariff (FiT) for wind turbines.
The consultation closes on April 26, 2012 and Southern Wind Power has already been involved in discussions on the proposals. The good news is that the Feed in Tariff is here to stay.
For wind turbines the most important proposition in the document is to reduce the FiTs for wind turbines from October 1, 2012.
Does this mean that you have more time to think about buying a wind turbine?
Laurence Smith, director of Southern Wind Power said: “Definitely not. The process of buying a small or medium sized wind turbine is not a quick one.
“If you enquire today it is likely to take a minimum of five months before your turbine is up and running. “Whilst there is no guarantee that a wind turbine could be installed before October 2012 any delay could mean that you would miss out on the current levels of the FiT if the proposals are approved”.
For further advice call Southern Wind Power on 01884 260159 for a desk top study which will look at the suitability of your site for a wind turbine.
Possible income/savings can be from £5,000/year to over £300,000/year depending on the size of turbine.
Land lease options are also available providing a generous annual income for the land owner.
