HAYLE 20pts TRURO 19pts - Hayle kept their cool at home to Truro to earn a semi-final place in the Skinner's Brewery Cornwall Knockout Cup against Redruth on the Recreation Ground later this month.
Cornish Society Referee Andy Reynolds, who had a busy afternoon, must have enjoyed the match despite the cold weather.
Lello fired wide an early penalty chance and in the 15th minute, Dave Seager crossed. Lello could not add the extras in the windy conditions.
Richard Spear set up the second try, which Lello converted, for a 12 points lead.
In the second part of the opening half, Truro came right back into the match with tries by lock forward Richard Tucker and flanker Stuart Aldrit. Scot Martin converted the second try to tie the scores.
Hayle forward Greg Hurrell was then replaced by the experienced Bruce Jago and Dave Seager took another chance to score the home side's third try.
