PENRYN Rugby Club face a tough weekend of action with a rearranged league match at Cheltenham being followed just 24 hours later by a Skinner's Brewery Cornwall Cup first round clash with neighbours Falmouth.

The cup clash was due to be played on the Saturday, but due to the re-arranged league fixture the Cornwall Cup game has been put back to Sunday, with a 2.30 pm kick off at the Memorial Ground.

This is because all first round games must be played on or before November 28.

With Falmouth having no game on Saturday this could prove a big test of the Borough's fitness and resolve.

Falmouth may see this as one of their best opportunities of chalking up a rare victory against their local derby rivals and despite the difference in league status could see this as a possible cup upset.

The Recreation Ground outfit are having a reasonable season in the Cornwall and Devon League, so the tie should attract a healthy attendance.

This game will see Penryn's Mica Mikele probably starting on the left wing and Willie Ongoongo getting a run out at No 8. Depending on the final selection for Saturday's league game, Darren Pellow or Chris Mann will play on the right wing with Carl Morbey at scrum half.

For Saturday's visit to Cheltenham, the Borough once more follow the familiar route up the A30 and M5 to Gloucestershire.

Borough have several injuries and unavailabilities. No 8 Ben Short is on holiday, whilst James Mann, broken thumb bone, is out until the New Year, and Kevin Hughes is a possible non-starter after his shoulder injury at Cinderford. As seems to be the pattern recently, final selection will have taken place after training on Wednesday evening. The squad will leave at 8.30 am.
