TRURO are through to the third round of the Skinner's Brewery Cornwall Knockout Cup without having as much as to kick a ball in anger.

They were due to play St Just at St Clements Hill on Saturday, but their opponents contacted the club to say they would be unable to fulfil the fixture.

Currently anchored at the bottom of the Cornwall and Devon League and shipping boatloads of points in many of their games, it was suggested by St Just that they would be unable to offer any meaningful opposition to Truro and conceded the tie.

However, supporters did have a match to watch with a Truro 2nd XV taking on Perranporth in a well-contested encounter.

Jason Caruana played a leading role in his side's 23 points to seven victory by scoring 13 of his side's points.

Truro's tryscorers were Matt Trevail, Jason Caruana, and Dan Symons with Caruana kicking a conversion and two penalties.

Perranporth's points came from a try by Mark Ansell and a conversion by Adie Matthews.

Truro have an important home fixture on Saturday when they entertain Berry Hill at St Clements Hill. The visitors are just one place above Truro in the league.
