Anyone with an interest in dairy and beef cattle genetics is urged to take a look at the next British cattle Conference, which will take place on January 26 and 27 in Telford.

A broad cross-section of speakers ranging from innovative cattle breeders to scientists promises to entertain and inform delegates and leave them inspired to return to their work in the farming sector with a broader outlook, greater hope and bigger ambitions.

A strong theme of sustainability will run through the event, and many of the speakers will propose workable solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of the cow, some bringing brand new evidence from research to be completed at the end of 2009.

On the afternoon before the main event there will also be an opportunity to both hear and question representatives from each of the livestock boards - HCC, EBLEX, QMS, DairyCo and LMC.

Conference chairman will be Devon-based Rob Wills of UK Sire Services who has worked tirelessly to export British livestock and build its reputation around the world.

The venue is the Telford Golf and Spa Hotel, Great Hay Drive, Sutton Heights, Telford, Shropshire TF7 4DT.
