The 2009 Holsworthy and Stratton Winter Fayre took with a good entry of cattle, sheep and produce on display and going under the hammer.
Taking the overall supreme championship in the cattle lines was Liskeard based Nigel and Elizabeth Bunkum with one of their outstanding team of cattle, a Limousin steer that saw the judge, Mr Philp Warren of Launceston place the steer at the top of the line up and then to go on and reach £1,783 - 290p/kg.
It was purchased by Tavistock based butcher Mr Downing.
In the sheep pens young sheep farmer Ross Millman took the championship with a wonderful pen of Charolais x homebred lambs which were purchased for Messrs West Devon Meats Ltd of Hatherleigh at £101.
