Helston lost at home to St Austell in the EDF Energy Junior Vase by 35 points to 12.
The visitors played good 15-man rugby and kept Helston on the back foot for most of the game scoring 23 points in three penalties.
Helston picked their game up in the second half with both side’s scoring 12 points, St Austell scoring two further tries, one being converted.
Helston also scored two tries by second row Dave Gilbert and prop and skipper Matt Jenkin one converted by Kevin (mitch) Mitchel Helston have the perfect opportunity to gain some revenge for their home defeat because they travel to St Austell on Saturday to play them in a Cornwall One league match.
“We will have plenty of work to do in training this week,” said coach Richard Whitney.
