Application papers also ask for permission to retain a shower block, install a toilet block and add a new field for glamping and camping, including the addition of up to nine shepherd’s huts across two fields.
The proposal comes with the promise of a stone wall restoration and a scrub management landscape strategy.

A letter to Dorset Council from site operator Daniel Lees says the venture is about being in tune with the environment and encouraging active holidays: “Sweet Hill Farm has always been more than just a campsite — it’s a living, breathing project rooted in regeneration, community, and connection to nature. Over the past few years, I’ve worked to shape the land not just into a functional space, but into somewhere people can slow down, reconnect, and feel part of something real.
“Everything we’ve done at Sweet Hill has been about working with the land, not against it… We’ve taken on feedback from the Council, and we’re committed to improving and protecting the landscape we’re fortunate to be custodians of.”
Comments on the proposals, Dorset Council reference, P/FUL/2025/04316 remain open until the end of August.
