The North Waterhayne Farm in Yarcombe is open to members of the public on Sunday (June 9).
The event is free for the whole family to attend and gives visitors the opportunity to visit a working farm and find out more about food production.
The event starts at 11am, and includes a meet and greet with the cows, sheep shearing, pigs and piglets machinery display, a kids nature trail kids and a hay-making demonstration.
At 2.30pm the herd of Friesian and crossbred cows will make their way in for milking and vistors are welcome to come into the milking parlour.
The event is being supported by industry experts who will be running interactive demonstrations throughout the day. These include:
- Blackdown Farm Vets
- AHDB Dairy
- Kingshay Pearce Seeds
- Saputo Dairy
Refreshments will be available thanks to Daisy's Dairy milk vending machine, Upottery Primary School PTFA and Yarcombe and District YFC.
Daisy's Dairy Milk has been awarded gold in the Taste of the West awards, for three years running (2022, 2023, 2024) and Lorna won the farming champion award in the Devon Farm Business awards in May 2024.
