DEVON County Show has announced a partnership with Iventis, which will take the mapping of the showground to a new level.
The firm's visual event planning technology combines mapping and CAD data to simplify real-time event planning.
The partnership will allow Devon County Show to utilise a digital plan for its expansive 96-acre showground, expediting the process of stringent planning required to arrange approximately 600 stands.
Devon County show manager and acting CEO, Lisa Moore, said: "Planning the positioning of trade stands has always been one of the greatest team challenges."
She says the new planning platform provides layering capabilities that simplify the allocation of appropriate stands for each trader, along with integrating information about each business.
The move toward digital mapping represents a significant improvement for the Devon County Show's team.
Ms Moore added: "Latterly, we have admittedly been stuck a little bit in the dark ages - using an A3 map between us all which was filled in as each booking came in by hand."
She explained that Iventis' planning tools streamline the process and enhance collaboration, since information can be shared with traders instantly.
By eliminating the need for sending printed maps, the team can avoid time and cost-consuming manual work.
Ms Moore also highlighted the benefits for the visitors, who can now plan their visit using a digital, public-facing map available on the Devon County Show website.
She stated: "Instead of relying on a PDF or referring to a printed map in the show guide to plan their visit, visitors will be able access a digital, public facing map from the Devon County Show website and pan in and out of particular areas of the showground."
Devon County Show is also contemplating further developments with Iventis.
They hope to allow visitors to plot routes in advance and get more details about specific traders.
Iventis CEO and founder, Joe Cusdin said: "We're thrilled to partner with the Devon County Show, a prestigious show in the agricultural events landscape, and look forward to working with Lisa and her team to help to bring the show to life."
He emphasised Iventis' commitment in helping agricultural show organisers digitise their event planning process, making it quicker and more enjoyable for all involved.
