AN organisation is hosting an Animal Health and Welfare Grant demonstration afternoon next month.

The Exmoor Hill Farming Network (EHFN) has organised the event at Blackmore Gate Market near Barnstaple on Thursday, April 18, from 2pm until 4pm.

During the afternoon, the market canteen will be open for refreshments and there will be a range of local suppliers. These include: Mason Kings, Harpers Feeds, Bridgmans, Mc Veigh Parker, RAPPA, Scotpen and Bateman (more are to be confirmed later this week).

A spokesperson for EHFN said: "We appreciate the timescales are tricky with the current busy farming calendar, however after much consideration with partners we are eager to see this event happen."

The Animal Health and Welfare Grant is part of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2024.

The EHFN has also reminded farmers that grant applications for Productivity and Slurry Management items (also part of the FETF) will close at midday on April 17 2024.
