POLICE are appealing for information after two pygmy goats were stolen from a property in West Dorset.

Around 9:55pm on Thursday, January 11, the goats were taken from the yard of a rural property in Marshwood.

Dorset Police Rural Crime Team has said it was reported that two men, driving a 4x4, were behaving in a 'suspicious manner' around the stables of the property before the offence took place.

Police community support officer Mike Sinnick said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the goats being stolen to please contact us.

“I also wish to identify the owners of the above-mentioned vehicle sighted in the area at the time and speak to them as they may be able to assist my investigation.

“In addition to this, I am reaching out to residents in the area to please check their home CCTV cameras to see if they have captured anything that may help us identify the vehicle and its owners.”

The first goat is a white, eight month old female with brown and black markings. The other is also white and eight months old but is a castrated male with brown and black markings and one bent ear.
