Bob Walters, volunteer with the ranger team at the Heddon Valley, said: "You will see places you’ve never seen before, views to take your breath away and learn skills you never thought you would.

"Every minute you give is not only valued, but absolutely appreciated by our National Trust Rangers."

If you volunteer, the National Trust has said you can tailor the experience to your own interests and schedules, as well as making sure the hours fit around current commitments.

Amy U’Ren, volunteering and community officer, added: "Volunteering out in nature is the most brilliant way to make new friends, get active, and to help care for this beautiful part of the world that we are so lucky to live in.

"Our team of rangers and volunteers are great fun and love what they do, and you’ll be sure of a warm welcome and lots of biscuits!"

There will be free parking at the recruiment event at Heddon Valley.
