A DORSET farmer has become an internet sensation thanks to his cookery skills - and has even released a cookbook.

Jim Chapman, known online as JimLad, works on the family beef farm while also running a camping and caravaning site and a Christmas tree forset.

He started putting videos on TikTok of him and his daughter dancing, and eventually she suggested posting some of the food he cooks.

His hearty traditional recipes for dishes such as roast potatoes and beef wellington, have gained him thousands of followers.

After becoming so popular on TikTok and Instagram, Jim has released a cookbook called Roast It Up after joining forces with online print company, Found.

Jim said: “Before lockdown I didn’t really know anything about technology and wasn’t on any social media. It was my daughter who said we should put some videos on TikTok so it was just of us dancing around at first.

“Then she suggested that I should post some of my food and it got such a good response and I was really enjoying it so I started to post more and more recipes.

"I first started cooking when we had kids. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed but having a cookery book is something I never could have imagined.

"I love a yorkshire pudding. And now I’m on a mission to create the best vegan version. It’s a challenge but I’m determined to do it.”

Found is a company that turns online content from creators into books, with the creator getting a percentage of each one sold. And sales of Jim's book are already doing well, according to the firm.

“If someone had said to me a year or so ago that I would have a book I would have thought it was a joke,” Jim added.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity and I’m loving every minute of it.”
