A hay bale fire sparked concern for firefighters in Dorset.
Upon arrival, the crew from Blandford Fire Station found the hay bales ‘well alight,’ although the cause of the fire is unknown.
A spokesperson for Blandford Fire Station said: “Luckily the field adjacent to it had already been harvested as this would have caused rapid fire spread.”
The decision was made to call for the off-road vehicle due to the condition of the land leading to the fire.
The fire service were called out to deal with the fire in the open at approximately 7.36pm yesterday (Thursday, September 14) in Tarrant Crawford.
The fire service is encouraging people to use mobile phone app What3words if they spot a fire in a remote location to help crews locate them quicker.
The app has ‘divided the world into three metre squares’ and has given each square a unique combination of three words (e.g. rock, pencil, label) allowing users to find and share more exact locations.
