CREWS were called to a fire in a field at Dulcote earlier this afternoon (Wednesday, September 6).
It happened at around 12.30pm near the A371.
A farmer used a tractor and a plough to help the crews extinguish the fire, which was described by the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service as “a controlled burn”.
The spokesperson said: “We were called to a fire in a field at Dulcote at around 12.30pm which was a controlled burn.
“We sent two crews and firefighters used drag forks, beaters, and water to extinguish the fire.
“The farmer then used a tractor and plough to put the fire out.”
