A FARM shop between Taunton and Wellington has launched a food and drink takeaway service.

The Rumwell Farm Shop Food To Go is run from a side hatch from 7am on weekdays and 8.30am on Saturdays.

Speaking about the grab-and-go facility, shop partner Anne Mitchell said: "After months of behind-the-scenes hard work, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve now opened our new Food To Go service.

“Our exciting new venture is on the car park side of our building.

"It allows anyone who has limited time and needs a warming, or cooling, drink and something nourishing to eat, the chance to get what they need fast.

“It’s perfect for anyone out for the day who needs breakfast first or who has forgotten their lunch for work.

"It’s also ideal for parents or grandparents who want to feed their kids or grandkids quickly between weekend activities and those stopping off while travelling on the M5 too.

"We’re catering for anyone who has no time to sit-in – they can now get some of the very best items we make here onsite to take-out.

“Our food menu includes breakfast baps, burgers, sandwiches, soup, sausages rolls and pasties, crisps and cake, and our legendary doughnuts.

"Our drinks list features a range of coffees and teas, as well as soft drinks.

"As we’ve only recently opened, we’re just getting started at the moment with our offering.

"With time we’re looking to also add a range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options too.”

From 7am, Monday to Friday and from 8.30am on Saturdays the team is serving hot drinks and breakfast baps. They also have burgers until 3pm, Monday to Friday, and until 4pm on Saturdays.

The Food To Go service has an in-store counter as well, which is open during normal opening hours, so visitors can get something to-go while shopping too.

Mrs Mitchell added: "Our grab-and-go menu, which is available on our website, is based on the delicious, homemade items our award-winning shop and café offer in store, featuring our own farm produce and our Made at Rumwell products too.

“They include our butchery made burgers using only the finest Angus beef from our own cattle and pork from our free-range pigs, which are all hand-reared on our farm just up the road.

“We’re using fresh bread and cakes baked daily by our bakery team and we’re offering items made by our deli, as well as freshly filled baps.”
