More thieves have been thwarted as rural police in have found two trailers thought to have been stolen.

This week officers from Dorset Police Rural Crime Team found and seized two Ifor Williams trailers a location in North Dorset.

The trailers are being examined to confirm the identity of their owners.

This is the latest win for the rural crime team. Last week officers found a pair of stolen quad bikes in a rural area of Verwood on Tuesday morning.

Last month a man was arrested and around £50,000 worth of stolen plant machinery was recovered at the end of last month in the Wimborne area.

Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, Environment Agency, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) raided a site piled high with waste.

They found an estimated £50,000-worth of suspected stolen plant machinery, believed to have been stolen from the Bedfordshire area.

Further searches at another address also revealed further machinery worth around £15,000, which is believed to have been stolen from the Bristol area.

A 51-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
