A pair of stolen quad bikes found by Dorset Police is the latest win for the rural police team.

The quad bikes, pictured here, were discovered in a rural area of Verwood on Tuesday morning (October 18).

A spokesperson from East Dorset Police said: "Two stolen quad bikes have been recovered in the Verwood rural area this morning.

"Enquiries are continuing along with cooperation from Hampshire Police."

This the latest in a series of wins for Dorset rural police.

A man was arrested and around £50,000 worth of stolen plant machinery was recovered at the end of last month in the Wimborne area.

Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, Environment Agency, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) raided a site piled high with waste.

They found an estimated £50,000-worth of suspected stolen plant machinery, believed to have been stolen from the Bedfordshire area.

Further searches at another address also revealed further machinery worth around £15,000, which is believed to have been stolen from the Bristol area.

A 51-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

In July, nearly half a million pounds worth of stolen farm and plant machinery were recovered in Dorset in another joint operation between Hampshire and Dorset police forces.

Three men from East Dorset were arrested.
