There has been a spate of trailer theft across Gloucestershire this past week.
At least seven thefts were reported between Monday (August 8) and Wednesday (August 10) in the Shuthonger and Forthampton areas of Tewkesbury as well as Sandhurst, Southam and Corse.
The trailers were stolen overnight or during the early hours of the morning and a number of goods such as power tools or work equipment were also taken.
The targeted trailers were either drop sided, double axel or Ifor Williams tipping trailers.

Burglars are often opportunistic.
However, police are reminding owners that there are a number of measures that they can follow to help prevent their trailer from being targeted, including:
- Parking the trailer in a secure location and using hitch locks or wheel clamps where possible
- If practicable, block the trailer in with other vehicles/heavy materials
- Putting up CCTV signs as a deterrent
- Installing motion sensor lights in close proximity to CCTV cameras to scare potential offenders away
Additional advice on keeping vehicles safe can be found at gloucestershire.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/
Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity or is targeted by a trailer theft is asked to call 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress.
