A milking shed on a farm near Weymouth caught fire at lunchtime today.
Firefighters had to wait to tackle the fire in Osmington because of live electrics on the shed roof.
The fire service asked Southern Electricity Board to isolate the electrics so that the crews could tackle the fire.
Four fire crews were mobilised just after 12pm from Weymouth, Dorchester, Wareham and Bridport.
The village had a power cut as the live electrics were isolated but the fire service says that electricity should be restored soon.
Weymouth Fire Station shared these photographs on social media and thanked villagers for their patience: "Firefighting actions were delayed slightly due to the presence of live electrics on the shed roof. SEB had to isolate the source in the village.
"If you were affected by this we can only apologise and thank you for your patience. It should be switched on some time this afternoon."
