A main road in Cornwall was closed this morning (Saturday) following a crash.

A tractor and a car are said to have collided on the B3293 on the way to St Keverne, on the Lizard Peninsula.

Local reports stated the road was closed at Treskewes Corners, with no access to the village via the main road.

There were fears that the section of road, which is the main route between Helston and St Keverne, would be closed for a while, with police, fire fighters and ambulances at the scene.

However, Devon and Cornwall Police told the Packet that the crash did not appear to be as serious as first thought, with no serious injuries reported.

A force incident manager told the Packet: "There has been an RTC at St Keverne, a car versus a tractor.

"No serious injuries are reported."
