Thousands of litres of liquid fertiliser have been stolen from a Dorset farm.

Thieves broke the lock on a large storage tank and syphoned off 12,000 litres of the fertiliser, worth £8,000.

The theft took place on a remote farm between Piddletrenthide and Plush sometime between March 31 and May 10.

Police are are appealing for witnesses.

Police Constable Paul Miners, of Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, said: “Such thefts have a big impact on our rural community and I am trying to progress my enquiries to identify those responsible.

“I urge anyone with information about the incident that might help my investigation to contact us.”
