The machine caught fire in Oakford near Tiverton
A straw chopper caught fire in field near Tiverton on Monday lunchtime (February 20).
Fire crews from Tiverton and Dulverton were mobilised to Oakford at 12.30pm after a report that the machine had caught fire in a field.
When they arrived, they found that the straw chopper was well alight.

They set to work with breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and forks.
They removed the straw and dampened it down.
The cause of the fire was confirmed to be accidental.
