A working border collie that was stolen from stables near Holsworthy has been found - by police officers in Warwickshire.
Four-year-old Fern was recovered through the combined efforts of Holsworthy police officers, Devon's rural affairs team and Warwickshire's rural crime team.
Police reported this morning that Fern is "safe and sound".
Fern had been stolen from stables in Thornbury at some point between Monday, December 6 and 8am the following morning.
Following her safe recovery, police are reminding dog owners to have good photographs of their animals as it makes circulating the news of the theft more effective and greatly helps officers to confirm the identity of a recovered dog.
