The south west is bracing itself for extreme rain and wind this afternoon.
As a yellow weather warning from the Met Office for thunder ceased at 12 noon, another yellow warning for rain is in place from 4pm until 3am tomorrow morning.
The Met Office of warning that the wet and windy weather is likely to bring some disruption across the south west region this evening and overnight.
Homes may flood and spray and flooding on roads is likely, along with interruption to power supplies, the office warns.
While it is expected to be sunny over lunchtime after a morning of showers, the rain is set to return around 4pm.
The band of heavy rain is predicted to move eastwards, together with strong winds.
The rain will clear by midnight, but further rain will arrive from the north by dawn.
The maximum temperature is expected to be an unseasonal 17 degrees C this afternoon but dropping to 8 degrees C tonight.
After a cloudy and damp start, tomorrow is predicted to be dry and sunny day, although noticeably colder at 13 degrees C.
