A ROUTE through a north Dorset community will be closed for several days next week for roadworks.
Dorchester Hill in Blandford St Mary, between Beckett Close and Esme Avenue, will be closed between Monday, October 18 and Friday, October 29 to allow for the roadworks to be completed.
A 100-metre stretch of the road will shut to allow Ford Civil Engineering to install street lighting jointing pits and to improve the drainage under the route.

A public notice from Dorset Council reads: "This order has been requested to allow Ford Civil Engineering to install street lighting jointing pits and carry out additional trenching works to lower the existing storm drainage within the carriageway."
A diversion route will be signposted and ask motorists to bypass the road closure via Folly Lane, Upper School Lane, Lower School Lane, Birch Avenue, Railway Roundabout, Bournemouth Road, Chettel Way, Beckett Close and vice versa.
Anyone who would like further information about the work being undertaken and access arrangements can call Ford Civil Engineering on 01202 813186.
