Three teams of firefighters were needed to rescue a young foal from a water-filled ditch in North Somerset on Monday night (October 4).
Knight, the foal, was stuck up to his neck in water off Honeyhall Lane in Congresbury.
At 8.24pm fire crews from Bedminster and Winscombe were mobilised, together with the animal rescue unit from Bath Fire Station.
Using small gear, lighting and cutting equipment, they managed to safely rescue Knight.
On Twitter the next morning, a spokesperson for Bedminster Fire Station shared photos of the rescue and wrote: "Overnight, #GreenWatch rescued Knight, a small horse, from a water-filled ditch in Congresbury.
"Difficult access but a successful rescue at the end."
Knight was left in the hands of his owner and a vet.
