Masked hare coursers have been reported in Dorset last night (October 5).

Five men wearing balaclavas on three quad bikes rode across multiple fields in the Bere Regis and Bloxworth areas in the night of October 5.

They then made off towards Lytchett Matravers.

The men are believed to have been hare coursing.

Police said that that several drivers in the area had seen and reported the men’s erratic driving.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police Rural Crime Unit said: “Work is ongoing to identify and disrupt.

“Any information, please contact us in confidence via 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk.

“Anyone with damaged fields or signs of coursing, please also report on this email.”

This is the second report in a fortnight of men wearing masks while trespassing on farmland.

On September 23 officers from Hampshire Police Countrywatch team were called to an estate near Lasham where three masked men had been seen.

The men were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and theft.

They were released on bail pending further enquiries.
