A tractor towing a trailer burst into flames after veering off a road and crashing in woods.
Police said the tractor caught fire on Sunday afternoon (September 26) after leaving the B3390 Waddock Drove, north of Crossways going up towards Affpuddle.
They warned that the road was closed as officers, paramedics and fire fighters arrived on the scene and urged motorists to avoid the area.
No other vehicles were involved.
A spokesman for Maiden Newton Fire Station, one of the attending fire stations, said: "There was a tractor and trailer fire near Waddock Cross.
"Thankfully, nobody was badly hurt.
"The tractor left the road, went through some trees and caught fire."
On Monday, a spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service: “We were called to Waddock Drove at 4.41pm yesterday afternoon to a large vehicle fire.
“Crews from Maiden Newton, two from Wareham, Blandford, Dorchester and the water carrier from Poole attended the incident, finding a tractor well alight in a hedge on arrival."
“Six breathing apparatus wearers used hose reel jets and a main line to extinguish the fire but the tractor was 100 per cent destroyed.”
