A car has been seized in Lychett Matravers by police in connection with a raft of rural crimes.

The black Mercedes 4x4 is known by police officers to have been involved in offences against wildlife, illegal off-roading and criminal damage to crops.

What's more, the driver had no insurance and the car was incorrectly registered.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police Rural Crime Team said: "A vehicle which has come to notice for offences against wildlife, criminal damage to crop, illegal off-roading, driving without insurance and driving a vehicle incorrectly registered has been seized.

"The vehicle is also in poor condition and will be examined as such.

"Dorset Rural Crime Team will look to pursue, deter and disrupt criminality in rural communities."
