Cattle were saved but 300 bales of hay and straw were destroyed in a major barn fire in the Quantock Hills on Sunday (August 22).
It took fifteen fire crews to tackle the fire in Stringston which broke out at just 8.30pm.
The fire service received multiple calls reporting a barn on fire and a large amount of smoke in the area.

When crews arrived they found the packed barn 'well alight' but the cows had been moved to safety.
The fire was sectorised and firefighters fought through the night to protect nearby farm buildings while the bales were allowed to burn out.
