Six fire crews were called in the middle of Sunday night (August 15) to reports of a barn fire near Warminster.
Fire fighters were mobilised at 2.26am to a farm in Horningsham.
Although a barn fire had been reported, arriving at the farm they found that a grain silo was burning.
Crews from Warminster, Frome, Yeovil and Wincanton initially attended and an additional pump from Tisbury and the Heavy Rescue Unit from Trowbridge were called in for additional support.
The team from Trowbridge had to use the disc cutter to gain access to the silo.
The fire fighters succeeded in extinguishing the fire using hose reels and main lines.
