A valuable crop of wheat caught fire on a Dorset estate on Monday, August 16.
A fast response from fire fighters saved the crop on Cranborne Estate in Sixpenny Handley near Wimborne.
Crews from Cranborne, Verwood, Ringwood and Shaftesbury were mobilised to reports of a crop fire just after 7pm.
While they tackled the fire, the perimeter of the field was ploughed to prevent the flames spreading.
It was the first call out for Cranborne's new fire engine.
A spokesperson for Cranborne Fire Station said: "Quick responses from all saved a valuable crop and a good first outing for our new vehicle!"
