An articulated lorry caught fire with hundreds of metres of cut crop in a field near Charlton Down yesterday (July 29).
Crews from Dorchester, Weymouth, Bere Regis and the water carrier from Yeovil were called to the fire in the Forston field in Forston at 2.28pm yesterday afternoon.
On arrival, firefighters found an articulated lorry heavily involved in fire as well as around 300 square metres of cut crop.
In just over an hour, using hose reel jets, a main line, beaters and farm machinery, crews succeeded in extinguishing the fire.
After the incident, Dorchester Fire Station shared these dramatic photos of the fire.
