A rope company is celebrating Cow Appreciation Day by giving a day of its profits to an animal welfare charity - and it's looking for charities to benefit.

On July 13, Buy Rope will donate 100 per cent of its takings for the day to an animal rescue centre or a charity supporting the welfare of cows.

Any UK charity supporting the welfare of cows can enter the competition to win the donation.

The winner will be the organisation that gets the most likes on Facebook.

Charities wishing to enter should visit the Buy Rope Facebook page, find the Cow Appreciation Day post, share it and collect as many likes on the shared post as possible.

The winner will be the organisation that gets the most likes on Facebook.

The competition ends on July 13 and the results will be announced the following day. Charities can visit buyrope.co.uk/our-causes to apply for the funds.

Cow Appreciation Day is an event occurring annually on the second Tuesday of July. Starting in 2004, it has become a yearly tradition that people dress up as cows to mark this occasion.

However, the campaign grew to support the welfare of cows and to encourage people to appreciate them and the dairy products they offer.
