These photos show the difficult night-time rescue of a horse trapped in a rhyne on Thursday (May 20).
A fire crew from Portishead and the specialist animal rescue unit from Bedminster were summoned to the horse stuck in the water-filled ditch.
Working together, the crews used a telehandler together with Hampshire lifting strops.
Despite the darkness and difficult location, they successfully managed to lift the horse to safety in an adjoining field.
The vet then checked the horse over after its ordeal.
