A Kubota tractor topped the latest machinery sale at Holsworthy, bringing in £37,000 for a West Cornwall farmer.

The 68 plate Kubota tractor was sold at Kivells' auction centre for Messrs Cowle of Helston.

It attracted stiff competition, both in the yard and online.

The Kubota powered on to £37,000 and is going to its new home in Wiltshire.

There was a sizeable entry of more than 1500 lots of tractors and machinery sold both in Holsworthy and via Kivells' latest online sale.

A K registration Ford 7740 SLE from Andrew Bonner and family of Burrington in North Devon exceeded expectations by selling for £12,800.

A Deutz tractor came in from Messrs Askew of Meeth hit £10,500, whilst the best of seven Massey Fergusons sold to a top call of £5,250 for a Massey Ferguson 135 on behalf of a reduction sale from Whiddon Down.

This was closely followed by another Massey Ferguson which sold to a buyer on Exmoor for £4,000.

In a line up of more than 200 lots of farm machinery, the highest price was £6,700 for the Accord drill which headed the dispersal from Messrs Moast of Brandis Corner near Shebbear.

The same buyer won the Kverneland five furrow plough at £6,200.

The first Kivells timed online sale with new hosts MartEye saw a huge interest and included the part dispersal on behalf of William Manuell of St Austell.

Top call in this sale was £39,400 for the John Deere 6125R c/w loader, closely followed by the John Deere 6430 at £20,000.
