Two cyclists were seriously injured, one critically, in a crash with a tractor and trailer near Penzance yesterday afternoon (May 19).

One was airlifted with serious injuries to Derriford Hospital.

This morning police have reported that the cyclist is in a critical, but stable, state.

The second cyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro by road.

Police were called to the crash at 11.50am which had taken place 200 metres from Trythall Community School in New Mill, near Penzance.

A tractor with trailer had "collided directly" with two pedal cycles, said a police spokesperson.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team investigated the scene and the road was cleared by about 8.30pm.
