STREETS will be illuminated tonight with window displays at Eastcott’s Window Wanderland.
Over 150 window displays in over 50 streets will see homes and businesses decorate their windows with bright, colourful displays. The walking trail is taking place today to March 8 from 6-9 pm. Only visit if you live within walking distance to stick to Covid safety guidelines.
Hannah Marquez, producer at the Shoebox Theatre, is taking part for the first time this year.
Her display is of the town’s skyline featuring the dancing duo Helen Mansell and Gavin Taulbut, who featured in the Adver last week.
Hannah, from Goddard Avenue, said: “The theme this year was Love the Place you Live. After seeing theTown Gardens dancers on social media and the positively they generated, I knew I wanted to include them in my display for Window Wanderland.
“Since Covid hit, so many performers have had to stop what they do, but this is a reminder that the creative community are still here, waiting in the wings, and when everything can reopen, dance, music, theatre and art will return to our community.”
It is the third annual event organised by Eastcott Community Organisation.
The1940s and 50s dancer Helen added: “We’re all about happiness and this is carrying it on. I thought it was amazing and what a wonderful thing to do.”
The event is outside but only walk the trail if you live nearby. View the window makers at windowwanderland.com/event/eastcott-swindon-2021/
