Melksham: A planning bud for 240 houses on land south of Western Way has been recently submitted by Hallam Land Management. The bid also includes plans for a 70-bed care home on the land. Anyone who wishes to comment on the application has until March 5 to contact Wiltshire Council.

Pewsey: The Lawn Farm Shop in Little Salisbury has applied to local authority for a new premises licence.

The new licence, if approved, will see the shop sell alcohol between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Tytherton Lucas: Alicia Laughton trading under Armada Stud of Bosmere Farm has applied for a licence for the Tytherton Lucas farm to be used as an operating centre for one goods vehicle.

Westbury: The council has ordered the temporary closure of Footpath 60 from where it meets Footpath 15 to its junction with Footpath 46 (Dilton Marsh).

This is to enable Wessex Water to repair a water main leak near the footpaths. An alternative walking route can be found by using Footpaths 18, 21 and 43. The closure and diversions will be clearly marked by traffic signs in the area. The order, which came into place on February 22 is thought to be in place for 14 weeks.

Lyneham: Samuel Edward Hodges trading as SHBS Wiltshire of 24 Lancaster Square has bid for a Goods Vehicle Operator’s licence.

The operating centre proposed by SHBS Wiltshire is Lake Farm in Sutton Benger and will make use of one good vehicle and one trailer.

North Bradley: As of February 22, Ireland will be temporarily closed to everyone until March 15.

The closure will allow M Fry to construct a carriage way in the area and will affect from 2 Ireland (North Bradley) for around 35m south. No alternative routes have been given but the council said that access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible.

Chippenham: Part of B4528 Saltersford Lane from its junction with B4528 Showell to its junction with Easton Lane.

The closure will let Flynn Limited to carry out drainage works to serve a new housing development.

An alternative route is along the unaffected length of the B4528, the A4 and the A350 and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
