An online sale sold more than £1.25 million of machinery in February.

'The Doe Show with a Difference' featured new, used, ex-hire and ex-demonstration machinery for sale on behalf of major dealer Ernest Doe.

It ran between January 25 - February 4 and saw 641 lots sold, making £1,256,125 in total.

The lot which achieved the highest price at the event was a 2019 Case IH Puma 220 ex-hire tractor which was sold for £93,000.

This was followed by a New Holland tractor, a 2018 T7.315 HD which made £81,000.

Other highlights include £63,250 for 2019 Hyundai HX140LC excavator, £38,250 for a 2017 Manitou MLT737 telehandler, £35,000 for a 2015 New Holland T7.250 tractor and £29,250 for a 2017 Lemken Compact Solitair 9 disc drill.

Bill King, chairman at auctioneers Cheffins says: “We were delighted to be able to offer Ernest Doe the opportunity to host a highly-successful timed online auction for what is easily one of the most anticipated events in the machinery calendar.

"The event was a resounding success, with unparalleled interest from buyers in the machinery on offer.

"The sale saw buyers from across the UK and further afield all competing for the best items available, proving that the timed online auction format continues to pay dividends for machinery sellers.

"Bidders came from throughout the EU including Holland, Belgium, Germany and Scandinavia.

"There also continues to be a significant number of post-sale deals agreed on the agricultural, construction and groundcare machinery on offer, ensuring that Ernest Doe sold as much stock as possible.”

The 61st Doe Show also featured a brand new microsite, showcasing a number of manufacturers, including Case IH and New Holland, filled with interactive videos and product walk-throughs created exclusively for the show, allowing potential buyers to learn about all the very latest equipment available on the market.

Given current pandemic restrictions, Ernest Doe took the decision to host its annual major machinery show online.

Graham Parker, sales director at Ernest Doe said: “After holding 60 previous Doe Shows, not having a show in 2021 was just not an option we could consider, so we turned to Cheffins for their help.

"We are delighted with the results over the three days and a considerable amount of business has been concluded post-sale which is very pleasing."
