An agricultural feed mill based in Holsworthy has made donations to two local charities close to the staff's hearts.

Harpers Feeds mill has seen many changes in its 29 years of trading but few as impactful as the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fundraising is at the heart of the local farming community and Harpers Feeds has supported charities over the years.

Each year a chosen charity is nominated to be champion for that year, raising awareness and encouraging the staff to fundraise.

The charities Harpers Feeds have supported have been wide and varying causes, from local sports club to cancer care trusts.

Covid-19 has had a damaging effect on charities, especially smaller charities which rely on the support of the local community and businesses.

Two charities that are particularly close to the heart of Harpers Feeds are Devon's and Cornwall's air ambulances.

To be able to give back to the surrounding area has been an important factor for the local independent business.

“We want people to know that we are committed to supporting our local area and take pride in our farming roots,” said sales director, Glen Johns.

“We felt it important to donate to the local air ambulance charities and are hoping to support them further during 2021.”

Separate donations to Devon Air Ambulance and Cornwall Air Ambulance have been made by Harpers Feeds to support their efforts in helping to keep people safe.
