NFU Mutual has bolstered its presence in the south west with three new agent appointments across Devon and Somerset.

The rural insurer has appointed Lucy Little as agent for Honiton, Tony Monnington as agent for Rooksbridge and Williton, and Pete Randerson as agent for the Tiverton Agency.

Roz Hills, south west regional manager for NFU Mutual said: “NFU Mutual offers all the knowledge as the UK’s leading rural insurer but with the added benefit of local expertise, with 41 offices across the south west run by those who know the communities in which they operate.

“We are pleased to strengthen our team of local experts serving customers across the region. Lucy, Tony and Pete have already established themselves as a real asset to their respective agencies and to our customers.”

Lucy Little joined NFU Mutual in 2017 and became an agent at the Yeovil Agency in 2019. Returning to her east Devon roots, Lucy was appointed as agent in Honiton this autumn and also sits as group secretary for NFU’s east Devon branch.

A former herds manager and with a degree in rural business management, Lucy is passionate about agriculture and farming and, along with fellow agent Dawn Venner, has a real focus on supporting businesses in the sector.

Tony will focus on the operational side of the business as the agency looks to develop its portfolio of large-scale commercial clients, as well as continuing to provide exceptional service to leisure, hospitality, farming and personal customers.

Tony said: “After a career covering a broad spectrum of the industry, I wanted to work somewhere that I felt I would be making a significant contribution. I found a perfect opportunity here.”

Pete Randerson has been appointed agent in NFU Mutual Tiverton. Working in the insurance industry since 2012 and specialising in farming insurance since 2015, Pete’s role will be focussed on building the firm’s portfolio and supporting the ten-strong team, alongside senior agent Emily Mills.

Pete joined NFU Mutual in 2018 as sales development manager supporting agencies across the south west to attract new customers and provide an exceptional service, so brings a wealth of knowledge of the region and of the company.

Pete explained: “Taking on the role of agent is an exciting opportunity and I’m looking forward to getting to know all our clients personally over the coming weeks, as well as expanding our customer-base and, most importantly, ensuring the team continues to offer the best possible service.”
