WEST BAY Road has reopened to traffic.
The road has been closed to traffic since November 2 due to works which are being carried out by Wessex Water. The closure was in place to enable Wessex Water safe access to rebuild three manhole chambers incorporating systems for water pumping.
It was anticipated that the road would be closed until December 24.
Works are still continuing on the road and there is a traffic light system in place by Wanderwell.
There had previously been a diversion in place, with drivers having to take the alternate route via the B3157 and Station Road.
A spokesman for Wessex Water said: "The road has now reopened and is operating with a two-way traffic light system in place until the work is completed.
"We’d like to thank residents and road users for their patience and co-operation."
