PROPOSALS to replace a garage with a two-bedroom house have been rejected.
New Forest District Council (NFDC) has refused to support an application relating to a property at Elvin Close in Hordle.
Hordle Parish Council had urged NFDC to reject the proposal, saying it amounted to over-development.
The authority also received ten letters of objection from locals, who cited the "overbearing impact" of the scheme. They also raised road safety concerns.
A similar application was rejected earlier this year.
A report to NFDC members said the applicant had attempted to overcome the objections to the earlier proposal.
But it said the "minor revisions" made did not address the main impact of the scheme on the area.
