PEOPLE are being urged to get involved with Hreod Burna Urban Forest’s working party this weekend.
The charity is holding gatherings on the first Sunday of every month to carry out the tasks needed to maintain the forest in Pinehurst Road.
Volunteers will meet on December 6 between 10am-12 noon to take part in coppicing.
Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and bring gardening gloves and tools such as hand saws, bill hooks and axes.
A spokesperson for the event said: “There will also be plenty to do that doesn’t require using any tools. Piling up branches as either a dead hedge or ready for chipping (when our tractor arrives) will take some effort. We also have some trees and bulbs left to plant.”
