ARMED police arrested three robbers following a violent raid in Bournemouth.

Two people were detained in a property and one was found on a roof following an incident in Charminster last night.

Officers from the Dorset Police Firearms and Operational Training Unit were called, along with the NPAS helicopter and police dogs, at 6.45pm.

They attended an address in the Charminster area after a man and a woman had been threatened by people with weapons. Items had been stolen from them.

Two people were found inside a property and a third person was spotted on the roof thanks to the crew of a police helicopter.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report of an armed robbery that had occurred in the Charminster area of Bournemouth.

"It was reported that a man and woman were threatened and items were stolen from them. The alleged offenders were said to be armed with weapons. Neither victim sustained any serious physical injuries.

"Following enquiries, officers attended a nearby address and arrested three people."

Two men – aged 23 and 24 – and a 15-year-old boy, all from the Bournemouth area, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and are assisting officers with their enquiries.
