A 12-YEAR-OLD boy got stuck in the mud up to his waist after slipping while hopping over rocks.
Emergency services were alerted after members of the public heard cries for help in the dark in Poole Park.
Poole coastguards and a mud rescue team from Poole fire station attended just before 5.30pm last night.
A coastguard spokesman said: "Poole Fire Station were just around the corner dealing with a false fire alarm, so were soon on scene. The crew found the person up to their waist in mud but were able to pull them free without any technical equipment.
"Poole Coastguard teams stood by to assist with first aid until the arrival of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust."
The boy was checked over by crew members before being released to hsi family.
