FORMER stable buildings near Bridgwater were completely destroyed by fire last night (November 30).

Firefighters were alerted to a blaze at a property in Little Brymore at around 10.25pm.

Three crews from Bridgwater were sent to the scene after reports of the fire, in 'out buildings', a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said.

"Crews confirmed on arrival that the property was well alight and quickly requested the attendance of the water carrier from Bridgwater," they said.

"Crews got to work extinguishing the fire using 3 main jets and 1 safety jet backed up using the local hydrant.

"Crews confirmed the buildings to be former stables which were completely destroyed by fire."

They remained on scene for a while to turn over and dampen down the area.

Wessex Water and the Environment Agency were both made aware of this incident, the spokesperson added, and said the cause of this fire is believed to be accidental.
